Dr. Appleton is a licensed professional counselor practicing in Marietta, GA. She has worked in education for more than 25 years as a teacher, Exceptional Student Educational Specialist, and school counselor. Dr. Appleton has been in private practice working primarily with children, adolescents, and families since 1995.

Dr. Appleton has a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education, and Master of Education in school counseling from Florida Atlantic University. She earned her Specialist in Education and Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Psychology from Georgia State University. 

Dr. Appleton has presented at conferences on "The Importance of Belonging in Schools" and "Implementing Democratic Classroom Management". She is a published author and proud mother of 2 grown sons, Darin and Ryan.
